Seminar no. 5

Using LivingNorwayR to create and work with Darwin Core complian data archives

When: 6th October

Time: 14:00

Where: Teams

In this workshop, we will take a look at the LivingNorwayR package (https://livingnorway.github.io/LivingNorwayR/). It provides a workflow for creating a Darwin Core standard-compliant data archive (“a data package”). This facilitates FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable; https://www.go-fair.org/fair-principles/) data sharing and uploading of Darwin Core archives to repositories such as GBIF.

We will also introduce the LivingNorwayR package and its core functions. Bring along your own data, and we can convert this to a “data package” ready for sharing and publication.

The workshop will consist of two parts:

  1. Introduction to the LivingNorwayR package including live coding demonstration
  2. Individual or group work on example data and/or your own data”

Here you can take a look at the slides and the recording from the workshop.
